Re-envisage the EY Travel Risk and Compliance service product; the first update within the IMSP integrated administration tool.

As one of the world’s largest professional services firms, EY needed to modernize its Immigration & Mobility service to stay competitive and compliant in a rapidly evolving global market. Declining client engagement and market share signalled the need for a more user-focused, feature-rich platform.

The new solution aimed to simplify global business travel by streamlining the user experience and addressing complex immigration laws and tax implications across countries. Leveraging a global brand refresh, we established digital design rules and built a comprehensive pattern library using Material Design, setting the foundation for all future Mobility tools.

Keeping assessment user journeys and previous trip information simple was key

Collaborating with EY’s development teams, we integrated up-to-date immigration and tax regulations from over 250 countries into custom APIs. This ensured travellers received accurate assessments, and guidance on necessary documentation, and avoided border issues.

The interface prioritised speed, clarity, and accessibility, meeting AA compliance standards and offering full responsiveness for travellers on the move—all while aligning with EY Mobility branding.

Create an holistic lifecycle of activities, tasks and events that are associated to the mobility of an employee on assignment.

The Integrated Mobility Lifecycle covers the full employee relocation journey—managing immigration, tax, compensation, and relocation services. The native Android and iOS app is an always-available hub for documents, tasks, and communication with Mobility managers during relocation.

We began by defining key app sections through user stories and acceptance criteria, organising content hierarchically to guide the design. Core components were built using existing elements from the EY Travel Risk and Compliance tool, ensuring consistency with the established Mobility brand.

Re-using the Travel Risk tool's pattern library improved brand continuity and sped up design decision making
